If you smell gas in or around your home the first thing that you should do is alert everyone nearby and leave the area immediately to an upwind location. Do not use anything that could be a source of ignition, including cell phones, flashlights, light switches, matches or vehicles, until you are a safe distance away. Call 9-1-1 for emergency assistance and then call PG&E at 1-800-743-5000.
PG&E will turn off the gas to the home and suggest that you have a licensed plumber find the leak to repair or replace the line.
Gas Leak Detection
If your gas has been turned off due to a suspected gas leak, we will put the line under a pressure test by filling the gas line with air. Once the leak or leaks are found, an estimate will be provided for the repair or replacement of the line.
Electric to Gas Stove
If you would like to replace your electric stove out with a gas stove, most likely your home only has an electrical connection available and you will need a gas line run to the kitchen for the stove. Our technician will determine if the current line is large enough to add an additional gas fixture to the line and provide you with an estimate to have the job done properly. All new gas line installations include permit and inspection fees.
New Gas Line
We can provide you with an estimate and the best possible route if you need a gas line run to your home for a BBQ pit, jacuzzi, or stove.
Adding a Gas Fixture
A technician would be happy to make a site visit to provide you with an estimate, if you’re looking to add a gas fixture to your current line. He will check all gas fixtures in the home to determine whether it is possible to tie into the current line or if you will need to upgrade your gas line to a larger size, if needed.
Replacing your Gas Stove
If you’re replacing your gas stove, you may not be aware, but most of the new gas line connections are placed in a different position than your current stove thus making it stick out a few inches. We can provide you with an estimate to modify your gas line so you can have your new stove, properly set into place.
Abandoning a Gas Line
Do you need to have a gas line capped off in your laundry room or did your home have a pool that no longer exists? We can cap that line for you, as well.

Sewer/ Drain Line Stoppages
Most Bay Area homes are constructed with the main sewer line measuring 4" in diameter and have 2"- 3" drain lines branching in from the kitchen, laundry and bathrooms. Stoppages can be caused by grease, hair or roots in the line. Repeated stoppages can be due to a line that is encrusted in grease, separation in the line, a belly that is not allowing the sewer line to properly drain or severe root intrusion.
"Simple" toilet stoppages can usually be cleared by the use of a plunger or an auger. On occasion, the technician will need to remove the toilet and use a cable machine to clear the stoppage. Other ways of clearing sewer/drain line stoppages are by running either a cable machine or a sewer/ hydro jetter through an exterior clean out or roof vent.
Sewer/ Hydro Jetting
There are many reasons why the main sewer line system in the home backs up. Oftentimes, the stoppage is due to heavy grease build up and when this is the case, hydro jetting the line would be recommended. The cable machine will not guarantee that a stoppage will not occur in the near future, since the cable cannot completely remove the grease that has built up in the drain line.
Sewer Line Repairs
In some cases, sewer line stoppages occur so frequently that a homeowner is required to call a plumber on a quarterly or even monthly basis. When this happens, we recommend using a sewer camera to identify the cause of the stoppages. The sewer camera identifies the type of material the drain line consists of, the depth of the drain line and the location of the issue. Most sewer lines can be repaired whereas, in some cases, the line will need to be replaced. If digging is require to repair or replace the sewer line, the area will be marked and a dig request will be submitted to 811 Express Northern California.
